] Headlined by Scotland's favourite Hogmanay Party band The Red Hot Chilli Pipers and featuring special guests Blazin Fiddles and Peatbog Faeries, it really doesn't get any better than this when it comes to a line up for a Hogmanay show.
The Gates will open at 20:00 and the show will open at 20:30 with the award winning winning group, Blazin Fiddles , who will showcase the distinct flavour of fiddle music from various regions of the Highlands and Island in a fiery blend that is guaranteed to get the party off to a rousing start.
Blazing Fiddles will be followed by The Red Hot Chilli Pipers who went down a storm at the 2008 Inverness St Andrew’s Days celebrations.
Winners of BBC one primetime show ‘When Will I be Famous’ and voted ‘Live Act of the Year 2007’ at the Scots Traditional Music Awards, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have a huge following in the Highlands and are guaranteed to ensure that Northern Meeting Park is bouncing.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are performing in the middle of our show by popular demand in order to give some of the younger citizens of Inverness the chance to experience the sights and sounds of a band that have to be seen to be believed.
Taking us to the bells and the Fireworks display that will explode over Northern Meeting Park to welcome in 2011 will be the Skye based Peatbog Faeries who are one of Scotland’s best known names in contemporary folk music.
Councillor Glynis Sinclair of the Inverness Festivals Working Group said “We are absolutely delighted to have signed up The Red Hot Chilli Pipers , Blazin Fiddles and the Peatbog Faeries for our Hogmanay Party. All three bands are guaranteed to ensure that Inverness is going to have one of the most enjoyable traditional Hogmanay parties staged in Scotland this year and we are really looking forward to what should be a tremendous night with a Red Hot Hogmanay Party atmosphere”.
Hope to see you all in Northern Meeting Park Arena for an unforgettable night.
Following the disappointment of the cancellation last year - and by God it was the right call on the night by the Police to call it off - I am really delighted to discover that the Council is going to have a Hogmanay Party this year.Inverness needs nights like this when we can all put our troubles behind us for a few hours and enjoy ourselves.Good luck!
Absolutely gutted the hogmany event is cancelled. Doubt i will ever get over this.
It looks like the weather is going to be awful. Many thanks to everybody who will be working on such a freezing night so that we can have a Hogmanay to remember. Appreciated more than you know!
Stan
Hello from Wales. My wife and I think you have the best Scottish Line up of any of the major Hogmanay gigs so we have decided to come up and enjoy it with you on our first ever trip to the Scottish Highlands. We cannot wait to experience Inverness at Hogmanay for ourselves.

We are newly married and had planned a week in London for the new year...then found out the PF were playing in Inverness and we are now flying up for the Hogmanay! What a great honeymoon trip - we look forward to celebrating with all of you!!
Glad you realised that we want Scottish music at this party. The Magic Numbers were not that good last year but the Single Malt Soundsystem were awesome.Keep our Hogmanay music Scottish!
Thank goodness somebody knows how important Hogmanay is.
There is nothing happening over here
I cannot believe it!
Just heard PF will be playing at Hogmanay!
Brilliant!
We look forward very much to our party in Inverness. Our friends enjoy Hogmanay last year very much and tell us Inverness is a fun crazy town.
I did not think that last year's party would be any good but I was the first to hold my hands up afterwards and admit that I was wrong.
I have family coming over from Aberdeen - where their Council have cancelled Hogmanay to save money - and they are really excited about seeing a good traditional Scottish Show. It is brilliant that Inverness is doing this and I hope that you will never stop having a party at Hogmanay.
Really looking forward to Hogmonay 2009 this year at the northern meeting park all the familys coming along so we will be jiggin in 2010 in tradition style...we were there last year too it was brilliant and had a excellent time.thanks to all who organise it you do a brill job. :)
Wow!! I love the Peatbogs and saw them at Scone Palace last month, when they supported Runrig. They are fantastic live and will really get the party started!!
What a brilliant line up for a FREE concert! Well done Inverness me and my mates will be there!
