Our first event of the 2014 Calendar and a great opportunity to meet some of Exclusively Highlands Craftspeople at work making traditional Arts, Crafts and Food. Glassmakers, Preservists, Textilers, Cabinet makers, Artists, Silversmiths, Jewellers, Bakers, Seamstresses, Photographers and more are attending, giving a superb opportunity to buy something unique and beautiful or even just wonderfully tasty! Meet the makers themselves and see how traditional techniques are still used to make contemporary items. Exclusively Highland will be inside (and outside if the sun shines) the beautifully restored Bishops Palace, Eden Court in Inverness. Entry to this event is free. Refreshments are available at Eden Court's lovely restaurant and the event is on both Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July 10.00 until 5.00

Inverness Highland Games | Northern Meeting Park, Ardross Street, Inverness - 11:00 - 18:00
Staged in the unique setting of the World's oldest Highland Games Stadium, Northern Meeting Park, the Inverness Highland Games is one of the world's oldest and most famous Highland Games. First organised in 1822 by members of the Northern Meeting, the Inverness Highland Games features the very best in Highland Dancing, Pipe Bands, Traditional Music, Solo Piping and of course the giant traditional athletes who compete in the much loved Heavy Events. The Inverness Games also features the unique to Inverness Stonemason's Stone Challenge which seems our very strongest competitors attempting to lift an 18 Stone (252 pound) stone over a 5 foot bar. First contested in 1822, only 4 men have accomplished this feat in the modern era, although many have tried. Our 2014 Games will also feature an exhibition by the Association of Highland Clans and Societies and performances by our special guests from overseas, the Can-American Pipes and Drums Band. Admission to the event costs £8 for adults and £4 for Seniors and Teenagers. Under 12's are admitted free of charge. This event is proud to be a member of the Homecoming Scotland 2014 programme.

The Caledonian Ceilidh Trail Launch Night | Nairn Community & Arts Centre - 7.30pm
A concert of traditional music featuring: Charlie Mckerron & Marc Clement & The Caledonian Ceilidh trail of 2014 Following the success of last year’s first ever independent ceilidh trail, Rachel Campbell, Managing Director of Caledonian Ceilidhs, is raising the bar with a big launch night in Nairn Community Centre. Join us for a great night out of music and song with the famous Charlie Mckerron on fiddle and Marc Clement on Guitar and vocals. The duo have performed in various bands in their own right, Charlie in Capercaillie and Marc in Blazing Fiddles, and both are in the renowned band “Session A9” Also in the concert will be the 2014 line up of the Caledonian Ceilidh trail, fresh from a week long training and rehearsal session and ready to embark on a 3 week tour of the Inverness area. From Pubs to Halls, Nursing homes to Belladrum, the ceilidh trail gives young musicians a chance to taste the diverse lifestyle of a touring musician.
